Agumbe is a beautiful town in Theerthahalli taluk of Shivamogga district of Karnataka. Agumbe is a beautiful tourist destination in the Western Ghats. Agumbe is located at a distance of 95 km from Shimoga district. The height of Agumbe is about 2314 ft. Agumbe is another name for heaven. The setting sun can also be seen in the Arabian Sea from Agumbe. A lot of people come to see the beauty of this evening sunset.


Similarly, people who go to other places by the same route keep their car there and go ahead seeing the beauty of the setting sunshine. Two eyes are not enough to see the beauty of this nature. The beauty of the sunset is also a kind of soothing to the mind. It gives peace of mind.

For this reason it is also known as the "Cherrapunji of the South".The area is covered with dense forest cover. It can be said to be a place of beauty for a lot of tourists. When you look at the beauty of nature, you feel as if heaven has descended. The surroundings are lush green and feel a kind of solace to the mind. Agumbe is a great place for eco-lovers. Agumbe is the longest and home of king cobras. It is also known as the "capital of king cobras".


It can also be called the region with the highest number of king cobras in the country. Agumbe is one of the dense forest areas of Karnataka. If you walk along the road at Agumbe Ghat, you will also find trees of 200-300ft height. The area of Agumbe is filled with a blood-sucking insect called imbula of the jigani species.



Here we can see the waterfalls flowing down from the Sahyadri ranges. Barkana Falls, Onake Abbi Falls, Jogigundi Falls, Kodlu Theertha Falls, and Sirimane Falls. Thus we can see many waterfalls here. Two eyes are not enough to see the beauty of the water flowing from that waterfall. Medicinal plants are also found in Agumbe. Agumbe can be said to be a kind of sightseeing place.

 Kavaledurga Fort Kavaledurga is a beautiful place with lush greenery in Theerthahalli taluk. Kavaledurga is located at a distance of 18 km from Theerthahalli and about 80 km from Shivamogga.
