Anjaneya temple can be found at Saligrama in Udupi district. Anjaneya temple can be seen in front of Guru Narasimha temple. People here say that there is also a folk tale to install Anjaneya in front of the Guru Narasimha temple.The crop grown near the temple turned into a basma where Lord Narasimha had taken a fierce form in the past and was facing east, due to which an angry man hit the idol of Narasimha with a rope.Anjaneya is installed in front of the Lord to prevent the burning of the deity. Sindoor and butter are applied every day to keep Anjaneya cool from the flame of Lord Narasimha. Devotees can have darshan of Lord Anjaneya from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. every day. Chandra butter offerings and ranga puja can be offered to Anjaneya.Oil is offered to Lord Anjaneya. Every Saturday, a large number of people gather to have darshan of Anjaneya. Hanuman Jayanthi is celebrated with great pomp and show at Anjaneya temple.
